Aminu Tambuwal, a Traitor?

Aminu Tambuwal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives

Bisi Lawrence, a Columnist wrote that Tambuwal was not a traitor.

Bisi, allow the speaker to defend himself as an orator.

You argued that just like Tambuwal, many have crossed the carpet.

Well, Bisi has forgotten that many also fell from the parapet.

I am not writing to burn Bisi’s argument in the fire;

My writing stance is that of an umpire.

There is a section concerning the issue in the 1999 constitution;

Let the court of competent jurisdiction interpret the provision.

It must be said here that Nigerian politicians are making mockery of the system.

This trend of cross-carpeting is one thing they should try to stem.

Popular interest must be given utmost priority,

Above the selfish quest for power and superiority.

I suggest deregistration of political parties without a clear cut ideology.

Similar political parties should be merged without apology.
